Gary Johnson
Partner, Leadership Development Consultant and Executive Coach
ANNAPOLIS, MD

Gary’s passion is improving the relationship that happens between frontline staff and their leaders. He has served as a Vice President of Operations for a large CCRC in central Pennsylvania. Gary is a licensed nursing home administrator.  He has served on numerous boards and presented at regional and national conferences. He also served as adjunct faculty for Temple University. He is skilled at creating healthy teams, cultures and operational efficiencies. Gary has the unique ability to see to the heart of things and help people to be the best versions of themselves.


Cameron J. Camp
Cleveland, OH

Cameron originally developed the use of the Montessori method as an intervention for use with persons with dementia. He is a noted psychologist specializing in applied research in gerontology, and currently serves as Director of Research and Development for the Center for Applied Research in Dementia. Dr. Camp gives workshops on designing cognitive and behavioral interventions for dementia internationally. These interventions are all designed to reduce challenging behaviors and increase the level of functioning and quality of life of persons with dementia. He has co-authored three college textbooks and published over 150 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Camp is a Fellow and past-president of Division 20 (Adult Development and Aging) of the American Psychological Association, a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America, and a Charter Member of the Association for Psychological Science. His research has been funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health, and the national Alzheimer’s Association. He is recipient of the American Psychological Association Award for Distinguished Professional Contributions to Applied Research.


Vince Antenucci
Cleveland, OH

Vince Antenucci has over 30 years of experience in research and teaching and 25 years in developing and disseminating innovative research-based interventions. His formal education is in political science, urban planning and public policy. In 1995, Mr. Antenucci began working on transportation service development and coordination for older adults and people with disabilities. Since then, he has built a unique career in applied gerontology. Mr. Antenucci has a successful background in live and online training, product and service development, and research management. His work is focused on the creation and dissemination of innovative services, products and interventions for—and with—individuals who have cognitive and physical disabilities.

Sarah Johnson
Director of Operations

Having several years of multifaceted project management experience has prepared me for firm collaboration amongst clients. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, and have continued to pursue that passion with Monarch as I travel the world elevating employee safety and engagement within the workplace. Working on special projects with clients, like interviewing staff individually and in focus groups along with data analysis. Sarah is currently working under a grant from Florida State to measure outcomes program effectiveness.

Lillian CARACCI
Lititz, PA

Lillian is an assistant to Joe Caracci and Rick Shay. She is responsible for typing and distributing our department safety audits and injured employee interview notes to clients who entrust Monarch to help improve their safety cultures. Lillian also helps Joe with any administrative tasks he can’t complete while he’s out of the office. When Lillian’s not working, she enjoys reading, traveling and hiking.

Bryan Stevenson

Bryan is a pastor, musician and dreamer.  As Creative Consultant, Bryan has the opportunity to fuse his ability to connect with people with his two passions – music & faith.   The Leadership Development trainings that he facilitates will often include live music exercises that energize and engage the trainee on a deeper level.  Bryan is driven by this purpose: to create opportunity for everyone he encounters to be his or her best self. Bryan pastors The Fireplace Christian Fellowship in Myerstown, Pa.

Mary Cranny-Paul

Mary Cranny-Paul, R.N., B.S.N. is a consultant with Monarch in the arena of health care. Mary has over 30 years of experience in health care in critical care, trauma, nursing education, healthcare recruitment, and healthcare consulting. Mary has enjoyed her clinical roles inpatient with Cardiovascular ICU nursing and education as well as Level One Trauma center experience. She has operated a healthcare recruitment and consulting business since 1995 interacting with clients from coast to coast. Mary enjoys working with Monarch clients in the areas of employee engagement and staff retention as well as other HR concerns.

Evan Shelton, PhD

"Dr. Shelton is an experienced speaker, applied researcher, and instructor. He has held positions as a pre-doctoral research fellow at Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging, a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at John Carroll University, and he served as the Director of Brain Health at a large CCRC in Northeast Ohio.

Dr. Shelton believes that it is possible for persons with dementia to live well despite their illness, and that non-pharmacological care practices have tremendous potential to improve the lives of those affected by dementia. At CARD, Dr. Shelton oversees the development and implementation of innovative products and services, evaluates the efficacy of CARD's care practices, and conducts virtual and live trainings on dementia."


Alex Maliwacki

Alexandra Maliwacki, originally from Upstate, New York relocated to Florida after obtaining her Masters in Health Services Administration and focused her career in aging services for the last 15+ years as a licensed nursing home and assisted living facility administrator. Alex serves on multiple committees for nursing home public policy, assisted living public policy and education initiatives. A coach with the Florida Leadership Academy and an At-Large-Trustee with the Leading Age Florida Board has allowed her to work toward fulfilling her personal mission of growing and mentoring future leaders and enhancing the reputation and image of senior care.

J.D. is a dedicated risk manager, holding licenses as a Nursing Home Administrator, RCFE Administrator, and Certified Professional of Risk Management. With unwavering faith and a deep commitment to family values, he approaches his work in senior care with a profound sense of purpose. Inspired by the Montessori Inspired Lifestyle's 12 Key Principles, J.D. shares his love for both his faith and family by training aging services staff on a wide range of important topics.

Drawing from his extensive background in administration and facility services, he plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of seniors through survey preparation, Fire/Life Safety protocols, and OSHA safety inspections. Beyond his professional responsibilities, J.D. cherishes the moments he spends with his loving wife and takes pride in coaching his two sons' baseball teams.

Joy Dukart-Benefiel, MSN, RN is a consultant with Monarch Pathways with a focus on education and coaching.  Joy has spent her career working in senior living, with her focus now on changing the culture to be more purposeful andengaging for those that call it home. Her passion for senior living was ignited with visits to the nursing home her Grandma worked in and was strengthened as her Grandpa lived with Alzheimer's disease.  Joy enjoys mentoring andcoaching nurses and care partners and helping them find innovative ways to support those that they care for.  She currently lives in the Wichita KS metro area, and enjoys traveling, live music and sporting events in her spare time.
