The role of Monarch on our campus has developed in to much more then initially expected. What began as a goal to increase communication lines between employees and departments, has developed in to how to have adaptive, meaningful and challenging conversations with each other. Focusing on self awareness, personal purpose and creating a dialogue with each other, instead of just a discussion. Gary is guiding us toward a shared vision for all residents AND employees and I am grateful for the significant impact this is having throughout the organization in the present and as we venture toward the future.

Working with Monarch for years, I can attest to the positive impact they have had in the life of Garden Spot Village. They have a unique process that focuses on developing a true culture of safety by combining education, coaching and accountability in a practical and effective manner. Not only has their work resulted in significant cost savings for our organization, but they have helped us to create a culture that truly honors and respects each team member.

Monarch's approach had an immediate positive impact on our organization, not only from a dollars and cents perspective, but also in improving the overall morale of our team members. Our Self Insured costs have gone down by $22,000 per month. This is truly a win/win for us.

Tel Hai identified a need to improve our safety culture so employees would be assured of their safety while at work. One of the steps in this initiative was to partner with Joe and the Monarch team. Each month Monarch is on site to talk with employees who experienced incidents and they also conduct department safety reviews. The change in culture is producing the results we were looking for as employee incidents are decreasing, work areas are safer, managers are more engaged and in turn our worker’s compensation rate has also improved.

Sue Verdegem, Senior Executive VP

Joe's passion for risk management is unsurpassed. His RM program has reduced incidents, injuries and related labor and insurance costs in each of the three organizations where we have worked together. The ancillary benefits of his diligent yet gentle approach especially with healthcare staff is to facilitate a stronger team with greater accountability and a deeper commitment to staff, resident and organizational safety.

I highly recommend Joe and look forward to his on-going support of our mission.

Joe and his team at Monarch Risk Management have been instrumental in building a positive relationship and improving our culture regarding risk and workers’ compensation safety awareness. They accomplish this by their detailed monthly audits by ensuring compliance, change and accountability. The peace of mind knowing that all of our employees and residents are safer is priceless.

Brownsville Marine Products initially developed a relationship with Monarch to improve our safety awareness and statistics. With some quick success the relationship expanded into working on the personal and communicative skills of our first line managers. This program has directly resulted in significant improvements to our safety and personnel retention statistics with an associated additional dividend in turnover and training savings.

Great Lakes Castings brought Monarch in to improve plant safety. After sixteen months I can say the experience has been a fruitful one. Through training, inspections, follow-up and employee interviews Monarch has heightened the safety awareness in the plant. The result has been a 42% reduction in the accident rate at Great Lakes. The investment in Monarch has and continues to pay dividends.

Our Mod was over 1.3 and heading the wrong direction. Monarch taught us how to build the proactive culture we needed to turn things around. We made a huge improvement in our Work Comp spending as a direct result of Joe and his team’s help.

Monarch’s audits, especially with the newly added F-TAGS, have helped UZRC’s Dining Service Department improve our performance with our DOH’s surveys. By incorporating the F-Tags, we now can clearly understand what regulation goes with which F-Tag. Thanks Rick Shay!

Monarch Risk Management has helped St Paul’s dining services decrease employee injuries and improve our government audits over the past 2 years. I consider them a partner in improving safety and sanitation Standards. I look forward to their visits; it’s like having an extra set of eyes, which helps in seeing things that at times we miss. They even find things the other five agencies miss in their audits.

Rick Shay is very professional when he addresses safety concerns with the staff; he is kind and explains why safety procedures are followed and what happens when they are not. He is never condescending and has many great recommendations. When injuries occur, the re-enactment of the incidents has been a tremendous help in assuring that everything was and is being done to prevent the incident from happening again. The staff feels comfortable when re-enacting the incident, and finds it is not an interrogation but a fact-finder to prevent them from getting injured again.

Monarch Risk Management is not just a company that points out all the things we do wrong, they help us in operating a safer operation and bring up the standards of our dining program.
